We all have an experience with “home made” wines, some reasonably good and some not great. You can imagine a room full of equipment including large glass carboys, buckets, airlocks, corks, decals and more with a continuous list of tasks and cleanup. You need the room to make the wine and you need to invest in the equipment. Is it all worthwhile? It can be. Are there any other options? Yes, finally Alberta has allowed stores like Village Craft Winemaker to offer a service called “Brew on premise” with use of a special winemaking system called the UWinemaker which was invented in Calgary and has since produced many award winning wines.

Brew on premise involves the customer choosing the wine kit they want, opening and sprinkling the yeast packet and that’s all you have to do until the wine is finished. You get a scheduled time to come in and bottle your wines when they are done and all of the equipment is there for you at the Village Craft Winemaker store. It couldn’t be more simple and having a sommelier at the store can really make your wine experience easy. You don’t even have the cleanup and the only storage you need is for 30 bottles of premium wine.

If you have the equipment and you have already become a great winemaker, everything you need is also sold at the store. From premium wine kits to wine making equipment to bottling supplies, they have it all.
