Auburn Bay Landscape Design With An Outdoor Fireplace And Water Feature
This backyard development in the community of Auburn Bay is a pie shaped walkout lot narrow in depth but quite wide across the back and with an open view to the park beyond. This created some interesting landscape design challenges in that we had to balance the desire for privacy in some areas while maintaining the view to the park in others.
The gas fireplace in the corner of the property provides both a strong visual focal point from the home, as well as a prime entertaining area where one can linger long into the evening hours.

The pie shaped side yard slopes down from front to back, and we utilized this bonus space by retaining with some Belvedere walling and dimensional steps to create some level terraces for perennials and shrubs. A cozy seating area was placed into one terrace, where it is sheltered from the wind and overlooks the backyard from this private vantage point.
The generous paver patio space spans the backyard from the fireplace through a dining area and across to a spot on the north side of the property. A bath salt stone water feature in the center of the backyard lends an element of motion and sound to the garden. These features are simple to maintain and a boon to the senses.
The spa on the north side of the backyard has a measure of privacy provided by the fence and adjacent trees but also overlooks the length of the garden.
Colourful planting, surround the garden and are the icing on the cake to this well appointed outdoor living space.
